Chiara Quartet competes in semi-finals of Bordeaux International Quartet Competition

Bonjour mes amis!

Once again, the Chiara Quartet has been selected to compete in the semi-finals of a major international string quartet competition along with only 8 other quartets, this time in Bordeaux, France, just 1 week after competing in Italy (it's a rough life, I know). We will be performing in the Grand Theatre in Bordeaux tomorrow (Tuesday June 28) at 12:15 PM local time (GMT +01:00). Unfortunately, there is no webcast in this competition, so you have to show up in person to hear us. The finals are on the next day, should we be lucky enough to advance.

GREG! you LOONFACE you werent at camp this year! thats NOT FAIR AT ALL. we missed you so much. every one of us. even the people who never knew you, because we told them the legend of greg beaver. where were you???!!!! i guess i can find out by reading your blog, but still. you would have loved this year, there were all sorts of new cool awesome funky people, as well as old cool awesome funky people . the jupiter quartet was RADICAL, really really super duper, but they werent you. these are not just my thoughts, they are the thoughts of everybody. so i finally decided to try and track you down, which wasnt hard, to get a message in saying WE LOVE YOU and miss you and are gone from camp but come play somewhere in the bay area and i hope you missed us too. peace!

Hi Clara,

How did the rep work out? Did you have as much fun as you did with the Borodin and Mendelssohn? We actually chose this year's rep since we know so many of you all. We were very excited about the complete Op. 18 No. 4, how did that go? We've already committed to June of 2006, so if you return, we'll see you there.

Of course we missed you guys, we were thinking of you when we were in Italy, although admittedly, the competition was occupying lots of our attention. Also, we'll be in the Bay area in April of 2006, we're playing in Mill Valley. The concert is on our website, so take a peek and definitely come to hear us!
