I think the next question would be why does Zend Optimizer break things?
Because there's a bug in Zend Optimizer or Debugger for PHP 5?
1. It's only used in creation
2. I can't find any calls to the PHP function opendir in the latest CVS source ... Still, if I try to run it in 4.3.10, I get: Error - PEAR requires streams support of PHP 5.0.0 or newer (no newline Hm.
Um, please re-read the post above. I quote:
"The first two problems are saddening, because it means that PHP 4 users simply can't use PEAR.phar - sorry folks." the actual problem is that streams in PHP 4 do not support the url_stat() function, which renders the inclusion testing functions useless. is_file() tests do not work, neither do is_readable().
I understood that it wasn't supposed to work in PHP 4. I was just trying to grep the source to find out where and why these functions were used, so I could consider workarounds, etc.
Thanks for the info. I'll look into it more later. |
